Amazing book. I’m new to both North Carolina and vegetable gardening and this book has become my go to resource. I had no idea of all the different growing seasons in this area until I read this book. I would have planted things at the wrong time of year and wondered why they didn’t thrive. My little vegetable garden is currently thriving and I am loving gardening as a new hobby, and I owe a ton of that to this book.

This book is amazing. It has comprehensive information, including optimal soil temps, pH, pest concerns, and best cultivars. This is exactly what I was looking for. And everything is delivered in a friendly tone, as if your likable next door neighbor also happened to be a Master Gardener with the county extension office. Really great! And I never leave reviews, even when asked.

This is focused around North and South Carolina gardening, that being said this does contain extremely useful and information most people would disregard i.e. brown tips on your plants give the sign it is not getting enough water, suggesting that nitrogen is needed. Just tons of tads of info packed into different categories.All that above being noted, this does go into great detail on planting, harvesting, and much more. If you garden in SC / NC this imo a MUST read (and own, don't resell, wonderful information).

This is a nicely organized basic growing guide. It does not include all details to growing but it's definitely good for a beginner wanting to learn the basics and get their feet wet and not be so bogged down with too much info

Gary has written an excellent introduction to the Arista world for those already accustomed to network administration or engineering. (If you're looking for a book to explain how OSPF works, this isn't it.) The book begins by covering Arista as a company and its product portfolio, then moves onto general Arista EOS configuration, and finishes up with review of some more advanced and unique features. Anyone coming from a Cisco background should have no trouble with the configuration as EOS is around 95% "IOS-like." Highly recommended for anyone looking to become more familiar with Arista switches.

Thank GAD for the signed book. I can definitely relate to the wacked out feeling. Great book but deffinilty need to reread some topics multiple times. There are some great, clear illustrations as well.

She lives in a second smaller house on the property. OMG you've just got to see what she did in her "basement" She builds a replica of a little mall with storefronts and shops. Each photo and story is beautifully shared to give us a tender view of Barbara's building and design experience. The photos are amazing and I am very picky about photos. Immediately I found myself right at home nestled in her rich fabrics with colors and visual textures that matched my taste perfectly. Who knew I would have so much in common with a megastar! I feel lucky to have such a beautiful reference book to start my renovations from. I am inspired. Barbra come to help me!

I am totally disappointed and am returning. This book came unprotected in the package, paper book cover is bent both top and bottom and cover is all marked as if someone was drawing on it. Not suitable for gift giving at all, not suitable as a book you would display. First bad experience I've had with Amazon, but am totally disheartened.

What a beautiful pictorial tour through Ms. Streisand's estate. She has another talent in decorating to add to all the others. It took you through each room and she explained the design and the road taken to get from the thoughts to the finished room. Each item selected has a story behind it and many of the items she had collected for many years just waiting for the right room to place them in. So much love went into her designing of this estate. It is a most amazing tour through her eyes and worth every minute.

i would highly recommend this book. Barbara did all the work herself. the photography and design of the book is fabulous. for those interested in design i would buy recommend it. beautiful to look at.

Although I have read and appreciated Beat literature for many years, I am not a scholar in Beat literature, or any other literature for that matter. I was therefore slightly intimidated when a friend who knows of my abiding interest in the Beat Movement gave me this book as a gift. I was concerned that the contributors to this volume, with their deep expertise, would concern themselves with esoteric literary theory that you need a PhD to understand, or that they would narrowly focus on the minutiae of a debate that only other Beat scholars care about. I am happy to report, however, that my fears were unfounded. This volume was not only accessible, it was engrossing. I don’t often write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so with this book because it has given me new insight on the books and authors that I have loved for so many years. The chapters in this book examine the Beats from a number of historical, cultural, and philosophical lenses. The effect is that I came away with an enriched view of this movement. I look forward to rereading some of my favorite Beat works with a new perspective. I recommend this book to anybody who wants to learn about, or deepen their understanding of, this important and fascinating literary movement.

Best book I have read on tinnitus so far. No hype or trying to sell you any magic cure lots of good information

I have tinnitus and it is fairly new for me, having had it less than six months. When I first got it, I was completely dismayed, depressed, and totally clueless as to how I got it, if I could cure it, and even what tinnitus is other than the completely annoying whine in my ear. So, the first thing I needed to do was educate myself on what tinnitus is, what causes it, potential treatments, etc., and this book really helped me tremendously in understanding my tinnitus. It's way more complex than I thought and now I understand it is actually a symptom of something else, not the actual condition. If you are new to tinnitus, or if you've had it for many years, take the time to read this book so you can understand the anatomical functions of your ear, what tinnitus is, possible treatments, living with tinnitus, etc., as this is an excellent overview of tinnitus. If you have a partner, have them read the book as well so they can understand what you are dealing with - there is even a chapter for those that are living with people that have tinnitus. Anyway, I enjoyed the book immensely, it's very easy to read, not complicated and difficult to understand, and I feel way more educated regarding my tinnitus. No cure yet, but hopefully sometime in the near future!

I have been experienced 24/7 tinnitus for the last 6 months. I had tried to research all the information I could to help me understand what was happening to me. In my journey, I found this book. It has been very helpful as it gave me more information than I have received from the two ENT doctors I have visited. I appreciate that the author is himself a tinnitus sufferer and 100% understands what it is like to never enjoy silence again. Dr. Knoblauch writes in easy to understand language. Though I hope that someday there will be a cure for it, in the meantime, I will focus on the author's suggestions about how to live a good like with it. I wish all my family members could read his chapter on Life with a Tinnitus Sufferer. I am going to bullet point it for them so they will better understand what life is like for me. I highly recommend this book as a great resource for those with tinnitus.

Most books like this are real yawners, but this one is easy to read, and gave me an understanding of my tinnitus. I found that high altitude has a positive influence on my tinnitus. At elevations of over 5,000 feet, it goes away! If you have tinnitus and are frustrated, read this book and learn about it.

As a fairly new sufferer of tinnitus, I found this book very useful. Easy to understand explanations covering all facets of tinnitus. I also appreciate the fact that the author himself has tinnitus. I’ve found in life that you tend to connect more with someone who has experienced the same thing that you’re going through.

This book is like a trip through IKEA. You need one little thing, but once you find it, you realize its taken you two hours to find what you're looking for and now it's going to take you that long to get to the exit. And you have to plow through even more floors full of crap you were never interested in to begin with. Only this is worse, because you are trapped in the massive building with people you don't want to have anything to do with. It's not worth the trip. Don't even start.

I never give up on a book.....until this one came along, that is. According to the synopsis, this sounded like a good story idea. For the life of me, I can't imagine this one being a best seller. I guess I am not the only one who reads a synopsis and thinks the book is bound to be good. Well, believe me, from now on, I will read the sample before I buy the book. Just a bunch of chopped up phrases, that don't even make sense. I guess there is still hope for me writing a best seller. I believe even I could do a better job; after all, I am only 88 so I guess there is still hope. I will just get some of my good friends to write a glorified synopsis for me and WHOOPIEE!!! I might even get a Puliizer Prize.

It's a sad commentary on the state of contemporary fiction when a book this bad is not only a best seller, but an acclaimed one. It starts off well, but quickly becomes boring, and its two "shocking revelations" are obvious from the beginning. Finn is a completely inept writer (his use of language is hilariously bad), and I find myself truly angry that I spent $13.99 for his execrable work.

I was not a fan of this book. An alcoholic pill popper who somewhow, while online, always said and did the right thing, but in real life was a mess. A lame twist at the end finished the book quickly and made no sense. The middle of the book dragged. I am not hard to please with books but this just didn't do it for me.

This is a dark, atmospheric thriller that in the first 40% of the book had me completely captivated. Anna Fox is absolutely fascinating and rather humorous. She is unreliable and she is, of course, an alcoholic. You can’t have a psychological thriller these days with a sober person, can you? It would certainly break formula, but I digress.The reason this book ended up being 3.5 stars for me is because it is simply too long. The first 40% or so, I was completely enraptured, couldn’t put the book down and invested on the development. Then things sllllloooooowwwwwed waaaaaayyyyyy dooowwwwwwnnnnn. There was a lot in there, but this book could have easily been 100 pages less and still told the same story. The ending picked up and some of the twists definitely got me.I can see why this book has generated such buzz and is already being talked about as the “It” read for 2018. But for me, it dragged too much for it to be a stand out thriller. This is the type of story that doesn’t need filler pages, you can just tell it from start to finish and give me the 1 – 2 punch.I would recommend this book, as I mentioned, it is sure to be highly buzzed about, so I recommend you give it a go and see what you think. Maybe it is just me who thought it was too long

This book was dissappointing, considering how much hype it has generated. It seemed to be following the way Girl on the Train was written, but never got going for me. I ouind the repetitive description of the main character, Anna- pouring wine, drinking wine, sloshing wine, spilling wine on her robe, putting her robe on or her robe falling open- very tedious and boring. It wasn't like I needed it to be described for each day, as it was always the same for her. Every day. As i was reading, I wondered if the author was copying and pasting these descriptions over and over when he talked about Anna's daily intake of wine and then her sloppy behavior. The story was kind of interesting, but I found the descriptions to be too redundant. Another reader said it well when she said that the book could have been much shorter.

I heard that this novel was the breakout debut novel of 2018, written under a gender-neutral pseudonym by a male editor of thrillers at a major publishing house. It was, reviewers said, steeped in film noir, well written, fast paced, original, and a love letter to classic Hitchcock films. It has, of course, already been optioned as a film, probably starring Reese Witherspoon.SIGH.I read thrillers regularly, and have read all of the classic mysteries (including every Agatha Christie novel, all of Sherlock Holmes, Dorothy Sayers, et al.), and I assure you that The Woman in the Window is a typical domestic thriller. The protagonist is unreliable, she’s a tortured soul, she’s an alcoholic downing buckets of Merlot and popping pills left and right, she’s a pathetic and dull basket case who can’t leave her sprawling home and spends all day on the internet, drinking, and spying on her neighbors. She thinks she witnesses a crime but can’t rely upon her sad, wine-soaked brain; hence no one buys her rantings about the neighbors trying to whack one another. Or not. Blah blah.It bores me simply typing up the plot summary of this novel, which amounted to nothing more than a Rear Window/Girl on the Train copycat. I understand that unreliable female narrators sell, but please give readers some credit. We’re not total dupes. More importantly, we are sick of these women who can’t get their sh1t together and are always drunk and falling apart. Give us a female narrator with some grit, some backbone, some moxy, and drop her into a truly original and engaging story. It may not become a bestseller (God knows why not), but it will certainly earn 5 stars from this disillusioned reader. I’ve reached my limit of recent lame thrillers.
