What a difference this book makes! I've been in business over 25 years, but didn't have any real understanding of cost accounting. This book makes everything much clearer. I learned things I should have grasped years ago.It's well written, with lots of detail. And, because it's a For Dummies book, you can count on a direct, simple approach to all topics, and a lot of light moments. I own about 20 For Dummies books and I'm never disappointed.Whether you're in manufacturing, retail, or service, this is a good book for you.
This was an extremely difficult topic for me. I've made a couple of attempts to pass this class in school. Nothing the teacher said/presented or the textbook had written made sense to me. I had to go off on my own and buy "Cost Accounting for Dummies" before I could understand any of this. This book was written in a way I could understand. It's simple, quick, and moderately entertaining given the subject matter. If you're struggling like I was, then this is a must read.
Delivered promptly. Book does an okay job explaining things.
I was expecting something less rudimentary. I am taking Cost Accounting and this reads more like Financial or Managerial Accounting to me. The explanations are brief, no real bones are picked and I've wasted money thinking it would be otherwise.If you're in Cost Accounting - look somewhere else for a study guide. This will simply annoy you with things you've already learned in other basic accounting classes.btw this is Scott's wife; not Scott. I'm studying at a local University to get my CPA.

Great book for starters, easy language and a nice introduction to cost accounting. (it even includes a chapter for job cost accounting which I was most interested in)
