What I say below only speaks for the second book. The first book is amazing and I have yet to ready 3 ~ 5.The story is fantastic, so I would give that a 5/5.The final product of the book after editing (if indeed any editing were done) is abysmal in certain parts of the book.An excerpt/example, if I may:(THIS HAS NO SPOILERS. Keep in mind this is word for word, letter for letter copied from 3 sentences. I myself made no copy errors.)---Begin----"Sylviee! Come here~!" My sister wagglved a piece of meat in front of her-Sylvie, tempting my legendary dragon bond, who wasinstantly began to drooling like a starving puppy, right before she leapt into hermy sister's arms.When I saw this, I couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of Sylvieher shakwagging her tail at a bandit smart enough to simply lure her away with a piece of meat.Apparently Mmy father's ex-party members had just finished a dungeon exploration with several other parties, so they would havehad some free time untilbefore their next mission or quest,. so itThus, it wasn't really a matter of if they had the timethem having time, but rather ifa matter of any of them wanteding to.---End---I would have given that a 0/5 for the terrible immersion-breaking writing. It's clear that it was supposed to have been edited out, as almost all of the errors are more like "possible ways I could say/phrase/punctuate this." However, this editing has no sign of slowing and I'm only 18% through the book.If the author or editor reads this, please fix and update the e-books for a better overall experience.
If you liked the first book then you will probably like this one as well. The narrative is as fun and creative as before. However, it saddens me that the editing has not been improved. If anything, the pace is thrown off even further from the start in this edition by the wrong, missing, or repeated usage of words along with other syntax and grammatical errors. The writing seems to have been hurried as well with some instances of the author choosing not to describe thoroughly what is happening until later in the book such as (**Somewhat Spoiler**) when Art taps into Sylvia's Will for the first time it isn't noted that this is what had happened during the actual scene which can be confusing. I hope in future writings the author won't be afraid to take time to be more descriptive and write about events and how the main character feels rather than solely mentioning them later in the tale to hurry along with the story.
I enjoyed this book much like the first. I do have a problem with the editing though. The book is a translation of the original and because of this it had to be reviewed first. Normally this wouldn't be a problem if I was reading it for free on Wuxia World or Quidon International but if I'm paying $3-4 US, I want the editing to be better. Still that aside I highly recommend.
It is a little different than others due to the main character starting out as a genius.After that this is a standard story of this genre. I happen to love the genre so this was a definite win for me.
Once again, I found myself really enjoying this writing style. The way the story unfurls makes you curious to learn more about the world and its customs. The characters are great. It's enjoyable. A guilty pleasure, even.
Great sequel, but read book one first. This is a perfect continuation of book one. Still too expensive.
Like a funny anime, this series has its funny moments. Mostly light hearted and fun with bits of action and drama. Not sure if I like the MC though. He can be a bit of an arrogant DB sometimes, but it is a nice contrast when the MC acts like a little kid.
I only started reading this series yesterday and as of now have completed all four of the books available on amazon. It is a great series with a very interesting plot that keeps you curious and exited enough to keep reading till there is nothing left to read.
