One of the best books I've read. For everyone who's ever lost a loved pet, this is just part of the book, but to me, I had not only just lost a loved cat named Reno, but the book helped me through it. Reno stayed long after he passed. letting me know he was still around. you just need to listen and be aware............and be comforted. Everyone is as different as their own beliefs, these are just mine.
Animal communicators are fascinating. Compassionate people have a rough time in this world, this reminded me I am not the only one who struggles. I found her story interesting. I have been an animal guardian my whole life and have used several animal communicators. They are absolutely indispensable at times especially when the pet is sick and you don't know what he or she needs This book is worth reading for any animal guardian.
I have read this when I loss the life of a pet years ago,it was a tremendous help to me.THIS BOOK is truly inspiring. At a time of grief for me, twice now.It actually calmed me down as I read, and I don't believe in calling up mediums but I got out of this book that God has made a way for each one of our pets whether alive or passed to have such extraordinary life within, Nothing shall seperate our love. I enjoyed the stories of what pets had to say in the afterlife. So much of a encouragement. And knowing they are able to see us, and want us to be mindful of their loving presence. I have a few books and I kept going back to this one, now again my beloved baby (another animal ) its difficult but this book speaks to the human heart as if your pet needs you to know these things and you your animal does want you to know these things.
This book is a GREAT READ, period. So tender and full of beauty -- so filled with compassion -- so full of resources for those seeking an animal communicator, so full of heartwarming stories, I simply could NOT put it down! I cried and laughed my way through the tender bits and the losses, but ultimately this is a book brimming with sheer joy. I wasn't sure if animals had an afterlife before I read this book (but have always said if animals don't get to go to heaven, I don't want to go either). Now, I know I will see my beloved friends again someday and pay a great deal more attention to the little things that have probably signaled their presence all along.Lots of love to you, Kim, for this beautiful book. A wonderful book. Very well written, interesting and comforting. The only thing I didn’t care for was the last chapter or two (can’t remember now) where the author went on and on about the virtues of vegetarianism. I have no issues with it, but I don’t think this was the place for it. I got the book to find comfort after the loss of my beloved pet, not to be lectured on why I should become a vegetarian.
I originally ordered the first version of this book (published 2003? 2009?) after the painful death of my 12-year old dog Katie, who had diabetes and kidney failure. The book comforted me as I struggled through the grief process. The pain was still intense but I could cope. I am hoping the updated version will have new stories and I highly recommend it in ANY version to the grieving pet owner.There are stories about dogs, cats, and rats. Maybe other pets too, I don't remember. After reading about the wonderful rats Kim loved, my husband and I found an abandoned domestic rat in a park and rescued him. Templeton just passed away - I am so sad. I need this book again, but I gave away all my copies to suffering friends when their pets passed...now the first version seems to be out of print. My highest recommendations! This book is a winner in every way. The writing is beautiful - faultless. Kim Sheridan took an extraordinary amount of care to craft the stories and chapters in a way that keeps the reader hooked. And thanks to Hay House who publishes the highest quality books, the editing and subediting ensured everything flowed. There was a beautiful balance between Kim's own stories and experiences (which I found the most touching of all) and the contributions from other pet-owners.There was so much content in the book. As part of my morning routine, I would read a chapter or two and feel instantly connected to all that was good in the world. I have been a spiritual reader all my life, and I claim to be an animal lover, but honestly I didn't know I still carried a lot of prejudices - like believing that the souls of animals were "less" than that of humans. Many chapters had me choked up with tears as I read how intense the relationships were. It also was a great comfort to helping me with my own sorrows relating to the passing of my human loved ones. I realised how truly connected we all are in the afterlife - human, animal, we're all part of one great consciousness.I purchased the Kindle version and what a bargain! Only about $3 for a book of over 400 pages! I hated to finish reading the book and thankfully it lasted a long time.I learned a lot from this book - but more from reading the stories than the advice given by Robinson in the closing chapters. I don't like being told what I should believe and that is what she did. Up until that time, I had already been slowly changing my views by being influenced by the stories and their outcomes. Up until the closing chapters, I would have given this 5, 6, even 7 stars! The best "preaching" is done the way all successful preachers have done it in the past: show the example, tell the story and let each individual draw his own conclusion. That was the essence of Jesus' parables - they could be interpreted from many different points of view, relevant to the spiritual progress of the individual listener. Robinson was successfully accomplishing this until the last chapters when she suddenly switched to proselytising, to telling us what to do and how to behave.Nevertheless, this is an exceptional book, way ahead of all the others in its class. It was an extensive labour of love and a great contribution to making our world a better place.
