My 7 months old daughter love it (so I love it too).Big images and the sounds are pretty good.I'll definitely recommend it.

Nice pictures but no sounds. Opened the battery compartment with much trouble (took forever to unscrew the tiny screw holing the lid closed) and found corroded batteries. Bought new batteries on Amazon and installed them. Took forever to screw the lid closed again. Should have tested the sounds before closing the compartment. Again, no sound. Was finally able to get the battery compartment opened again and inspected the compartment more closely. Found a tiny spot that needed to be cleaned of battery corrosion. Then replaced the new batteries with three other new batteries. The sounds worked. It does take a strong finger to push the sound buttons; a child wouldn't be able to do it. Screwed the compartment lid back on with much trouble. The tiny screw holding the cover in place had broken, but luckily, there was enough of the screw left to tighten the lid sufficiently. I've never had such a time replacing batteries. After all this trouble, I sure hope my toddlers enjoy this book.

My 16-month-old daughter loves this book. She used it so much we had to get another one (she took it everywhere with it and was very tough on it). It is kind of tough to press some of the buttons, so she needs our help. That's why I took off one star. But great book for teaching animal sounds and it's fun and interactive without being too loud. Also, it doesn't play any music or make unnecessary noise.

The back of the book says it's for ages 3 & up, but my 8-month old absolutely loves this book already. I like how the pictures aren't cartoonish drawings, but real pictures of animals, and the sounds are life-like. Yet, the book is still really cute and fun! The textures of each animal are all nice and different from each other too. The cow has soft black fur that you push to hear it "Mooooooo," the lamb has a wooly coat that you push to hear it "Baaaaaa," etc. We also have the "Noisy Trucks" version of these books and love that one too! These are books that my baby will enjoy for years, and they're educational as well. I just wish they made more of these types of books.

This book has the following farm animals with textures and their sounds: cow, rooster, pig, lamb, horse. My one-year-old loves to touch the animals and hear their sounds over and over, the rooster is particularly hard to push to make the sound so I have to push it for him though. The rest of the buttons are not as hard to push, but they won't go off with just barely touching them, which is good if you don't want your kids to drive you crazy all day.

The book is cute but it arrived damaged. The front cover is torn down the seam. I'm not sure if this is why the price was discounted so deeply but if that is why, we should be made aware the price is a clearance price due to damage to item. Had I bought for a gift I wouldn't be giving it

This book is pretty cute. It makes 5-6 animal noises and has photos of different farm animals. My 6 month old seems to like it but the "touch and feel" areas are aren't huge and she has a hard time touching and feeling. The sound buttons are under the textures and are very small so she definitely can't do those on her own at all. She does enjoy it when I help her though.

Received this today for my littlest granddaughter. Does NOT work! I am so disappointed! Going to try to find some new batteries for it. One of the cell batteries is corroded! If new batteries don’t work, it’s going back! I shouldn’t have to replace these batteries before I can use it!!

About the Author

Dr. Eeva Tuppurainen is an independent veterinary expert for lumpy skin disease (LSD), sheeppox (SPP) and goatpox (GTP). For more than a decade, she headed a UK based the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) reference laboratory for LSD, SPP and GTP. Her responsibilities included provision of diagnostic services, technical assistance and training on capripoxviruses (CaPV) for the OIE Member States. In this role, she was responsible for implementing various research projects on the CaPV field. During the recent LSD outbreaks in Europe and the northern Caucasus, she has served as a team leader for several European Union (EU) Community Veterinary Emergency Team (CVET) missions, followed by a series of sustained technical assistance missions to the LSD affected and at-risk Balkan countries under the framework of the EU Better Training Safer Food-initiative. In early 2017 she contributed as a short term external consultant for FAO LSD projects, providing disease expertise in designing effective disease control and eradication measures, preparing training courses, awareness material, LSD Field Manual and a contingency plan template.  Currently, she is engaged as a Senior Animal Health Expert, in an EU funded project in the northern part of Cyprus.  Dr. Shawn Babiuk received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan in 1997 and a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003. He completed postdoctoral training in Saskatoon on genomics with Pyxis Genomics Canada and on vaccine development at Vaccine & Infectious Disease Organization, University of Saskatchewan. In 2005, he moved to the National Centre for Foreign Animal Disease in Winnipeg as a research scientist for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. In 2006, he became an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunology at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Babiuk’s research is focused on foreign animal disease. His research interests consist of understanding the pathogenesis as well as developing diagnostics and vaccines for several foreign animal diseases such as capripox, peste des petits ruminants, African swine fever as well as newly emerging zoonotic diseases such as influenza and Rift Valley fever.Dr. Eyal Klement is an associate professor of veterinary epidemiology in the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine in the Hebrew Universtiy. He graduated DVM studies in the Hebrew University and completed a Master degree in epidemiology at the Tel-Aviv University in Israel. His main research interest is aimed at the epidemiology of infectious diseases in animals and humans and vaccine evaluation. He is the head founder of the Veterinary Master of Public Health program at the Hebrew University.  Eyal is a consultant of EFSA and the EUFMD on several topics such as the risk of vector-borne disease introduction to Europe, Lumpy skin disease and evaluation of FMD vaccine effectiveness. He is also an associate editor of Frontiers in Veterinary Science, section Veterinary Epidemiology, and Economics.

I liked C.J. Walker's story, of Victorian-era London with its rigidly stratified society and its inherited magic apparently attached to individual items (i.e.: clocks, maps, medical skills and medicine, and more).On the other hand, I wasn't nearly as fond of the characters. India Steele, C.J. Archer's protagonist, is enamored of her employer, Matthew Glass but refuses to do anything to encourage his affections, despite being quite willing to do all sorts of other things normally outside the role of a proper well-bred Victorian woman. Glass is equally unwilling to admit his feelings for her, because of a significant risk of his dying if the magical pocket watch he carries (and that keeps his heart beating) should stop. The pocket watch is apparently a sort of “magical pacemaker” which he was given by a magician who assisted at his emergency surgery after his being shot in the chest some years before. It has been steadily running down, and only the watchmaking magician who created it can replace or repair it.Glass is accompanied by his "posse" of friends and family from America, each of whom was apparently purchased from Clichès-R-Us. There's the frightening-looking one-eyed giant with a heart of gold, called (of course) Cyclops-- apparently he has no other name, making me wonder about his parents. There's the cousin, a Calamity Jane sort who smokes a pipe, drinks cheap whiskey, gambles, and wants to solve everything with her trusty Colt. And there's the comic, somewhat cowardly sidekick, who will do anything for Glass and secretly is in love with the cousin-- a shared non-relationship apparently included to add a touch of comic spice.The primary plot of the first two novels in this series has to do with the search for this unknown watchmaker, who calls himself Chronos. The second plot, around which this book revolves, is about the search for a young magician-mapmaker (the apprentice of the title), the illegitimate son of Scotland Yard's Commissioner of Police.In both cases, it's an interesting plot in an interesting world. And in both cases, the stories are flawed by the writing, and particularly the characterization.By the end of the second novel, none of these characters has grown, nor had an insight into his or her own motivations. Needless to say, neither have we.Better writing could have made this a really good series... as it is, I'm stopping at two. I started the second because I had enjoyed the story. I won't start the third because of the writing.

I picked up the second in the series simply because it was a bit of light pulp fun. The Mapmaker's Apprentice it's actually an improvement on the first novel. Steele appears to be over her concerns that her employer and the family she lives with are ready to slit het throat every other page. Instead, Archer builds on the themes of magic and the guilds of London, as our duo and their friends try to find the man to save Glass. The interplay between Glass and Steele is often witty and sly while his family's interferences are amusing. The threats against people with magic become more real and intense in this novel as well. Altogether more pulled together and enjoyable than the first and left me looking forward to the third.

Second installment in this series is just as good as the first. At this point I will read anything this author writes because the books just suck you right into the story and are very well-written. The two main characters’ romance vibe isn’t overdone, and you will find yourself rooting for them. I like the blend of magic and Victorian times, and the views on women from back then are well described but an undertone throughout the book and not pushed at you. I think her main storyline has a lot of promise to keep us entertained for a good while without getting tired of it at all. Fun, hidden magic, mystery, great characters - I highly recommend this series!

The first book was interesting, if a bit slow and anticlimactic. This second book is just absurd. Glass and his crew are supposed to be fantastic at infiltrating criminal gangs but I truly think they're more like five year olds. The plot is silly, they're unprofessional and make ridiculous mistakes. There might as well be nothing new in this book about India's magic because what we do learn is minuscule and really gives any further understanding of the magic in this world. I'm so frustrated I read this, I didn't realize until I'd already read a free copy of the first book that this is an author who writes series with a slew of books in them in which hardly anything happens, just to eek out as much money as they can.If you've read the first and know like everyone knows, that Steele and Glass are going to get together, know that by the end of book two, it's still just angsty crap, with her liking him but denying to herself that he's actually looking at her like he's attracted to her. This book left me feeling annoyed, frustrated and had.

An absolutely fantastic book for all fantasy and historic fiction lovers. The plot was complex yet not difficult to understand and the character development was amazing.We see a shift in the dynamics of Matthew and India's relationship, and one could compare them to the Sherlock-Watson duo, if one looks at the way Matthew runs off without any thought to his safety and the way India has her own moments of bravery despite being terrified.The lighter parts of the book are truly hilarious and I really love how the side characters play such an important part to the story.I'm completely in love with this series and cannot wait for the Apothecary's Poison!

I'm completely taken with this series so far. I can't even put into words how much I love these characters. All of them, but Willie is without a doubt my favorite. Anyone who knows me and reads this story will know exactly why. I did hope to see a little more development with Indie in this book, and this book didn't pack quite as big as a punch as its predecessor. Knowing there are two more books to read, as well as, at least a fifth in the making, I do understand the steady pace of the overall story development. Book two certainly wasn't boring. Not in the least. There is still plenty of mystery and plenty of story to be told. A little more magic, a little more character growth, a little more romance in the making. In my opinion, all the series is lacking thus far is TNT. I'm hoping Willie will be the one to solve this issue. I'm going to continue to read. I downloaded book three this morning.

I always enjoyed the TSN clips I saw of Jay and Dan from Sports Centre, so I had high hopes for this book. It's ok. Maybe if I grew up in Canada I would enjoy it more. I'm not familiar with any of the sportscaster names or TV channels mentioned. Some of the stories are funny, but most are just moderately interesting. I was hoping for a bit more outrageous and crazy tidbits, it's surprisingly tame.

Hilarious stories of a man's journey reaching the top of the sports broadcasting game. Very entertaining and quick book to read.

Very interesting following Jay's career - much like a lot of people, growing up, decisions that change your life's direction. Only with Jay, his stories are all very funny and interesting.

This excellent book should be required reading in all of our high schools. It is well-written and contains useful facts and information. Not reading this book is cheating yourself. Over and over throughout history, capitalism has been proven to be the system which makes things best for humans, while all of the various forms of collectivism (communism, socialism, fascism) have proven to be failures, making things worse for most everyone. Even so, we are afflicted with evil people driven by the devil in many media, university, and government school positions pushing collectivism. We can and should put collectivism in the sewer of history, along with absolute monarchies, landed gentry, serfdom, and slavery.

Well written, accurate.

Great insight into the agenda driven politics that only seek to keep people dependent on big government. Pudzer’s writing appears humble and honest. A must read!

Hats off to Mr. & Mrs .Pusder for their courage and willingness to endure the attacks and set the example for others. Sincere thanks. This book should be part of every college and secondary curriculum. It NEEDS to happen.

This book goes through a history of the multiple Brooklyn baseball teams in the three decades from 1850. These eventually coalesced, despite some temporary name changes along the way, into the Brooklyn Dodgers. The author then gives a history of the team - key players, managers and owners - from the late 19th century to the mid-twentieth century.However, for a book that purports to tell "the story" of the Brooklyn Dodgers, it has ambiguities, omissions and mistakes, and is desperately in need of a good editor.To begin, there is a photograph of the Brooklyn team of 1888. The author's caption "identifies" the players by their position in each row. But as some players were standing, sitting and in between, it is impossible to tell who is in which row. The caption does nothing to assist the reader and therefore the author's "identification" of the players is useless.Then there are the mistakes. The author has another picture, this one of the 1916 World Series, which he captions "...shows the only scoring action in the second game." As he states below that the final score was 2-1, there obviously were two more "scoring actions" in that game.Under a picture of Casey Stengel, the author writes that "...he led the Yankees to championships year in and year out in the 1950s and 1960s."Stengel's last Yankee pennant championship was in 1960; that single year hardly qualifies as "the 1960s". And while he did win eight pennants in the 1950s, he lost in two years; that was most of the decade but not "year in and year out".Then there are the omissions. The small one is in the caption of a picture Manager Wilbert Robinson and pitcher Rube Marquard. The caption says the pitcher's delivery was like a dance step he performed with his movie star wife. Having pointed out that she was a movie star begs the question: which movie star was his wife? But the author just ignores that.Another omission is Game 4 of the 1947 World Series. Cookie Lavagetto's pinch-hit double in the ninth inning breaking up Bill Beven's no-hitter was a historic moment in Brooklyn. But the author completely ignores it.But the biggest omission is with the 1950s Dodgers. The book's back page blurb claims "A large part of Brooklyn Dodgers is dedicated to those teams of the 1950s..." That is pure hype - and completely false. The key part of the book - covering the "Boys of Summer" - is in Chapter Eight, a very slim chapter and a very small part of the book. The 1955 World Series win is there, as are some of players. But just as many are not. A book about the 50s Dodgers not mentioning mainstay relief pitcher Clem Labine, making no note of Carl Furillo's unique ability to play balls hit off the concave right field wall - nor of his rifle arm throwing out runners at home plate - and not noting that Don Newcombe was not only an outstanding pitcher but was often used as a pinch hitter is hardly telling the Dodgers story.The book needed another dozen pages to cover the 1950s teams. It is a shame that this book, while giving much history, is such a letdown dealing with the key Dodger decade.

Author Mark Rucker has gotten hold of some priceless photographs from the Dodger archives in writing “Images of Sports: Brooklyn Dodgers” for ARCADIA PUBLISHING. Rucker includes photos of some of the most significant moments in Dodgers history, including Jackie Robinson staring at home as Bobby Thomson crosses the plate to give the Giants the pennant in 1951, and the great catch by Sandy Amoros in the 1955 World Series to help preserve the game 7 win for Johnny Podres. Balancing these moments of gravitas are spring training shots of Hugh Casey wearing a huge sombrero and of Harold “Pee Wee” Reese signing some autographs at Vero Beach.The book is divided into eight chapters, with the first page of each chapter containing a single photograph that is about twice the size of the other photographs in the book. Other than the introductory pages, generally, all pages of the book have two photographs on them.Among the nuggets of information that Rucker includes in his book are naming the pitcher who Joe DiMaggio called the “meanest man” he had ever seen. (DiMaggio was referring to Whitlow Wyatt, a pitcher in the 1940’s for the Dodgers, who Rucker calls an “aggressive knockdown artist.”) In his chapter titled “1910-1919,” Rucker provides two great shots of future manager Casey Stengel in his playing days, reminding us that Stengel could also play the game, as he hit .364 in the 1916 World Series, leading the Dodgers in batting in the series.The book is not flawless, as second baseman Jerry Coleman is identified as a shortstop on page 121 and on page 117 Rucker states Erskine held the World Series strikeout record of 14 until 1967, when in fact it was 1963 that the record was broken. Rucker fails to point out that the pitcher doing the breaking was none other than Sandy Koufax, who struck out 15 Yankees in game 1 of the World Series.In an ideal world, I would have enjoyed seeing more prose, especially in the introduction to each chapter, allowing Rucker to elaborate on the rich history of the Brooklyn franchise.All in all, this was a quick and enjoyable read.Note: The author of this review is also the author of “Spring Training with the Washington Nationals,” published by FONTHILL MEDIA in April 2015. As with the “Brooklyn Dodgers,” the book on the Nationals is 128 pages and uses some excellent photographs to tell its story. All photographs in “Spring Training with the Washington Nationals are in color and are part of Fonthill’s “Images of Modern America” series.

I'm a prenatal yoga teacher and use this among other books as resources. Has a weekly yoga pose for you as well as inspirational mantras, meditations, and breathing practices (pranayama). Good buy for a mom looking to start a prenatal home practice or gain awareness of her new pregnant body in a current yoga practice. This book can educate to keep you and baby safe.

This is the only pregnancy related book I have that makes me feel peaceful and joyful after reading. All my other books leave me full of anxiety and overwhelmed. So much so that this is the only book I read in most days. I wish all pregnancy literature was like this one.

I love not only the yoga moves, but the kind uplifting thoughts this book prompts you to think!

I am very much enjoying The Yoga of Pregnancy -- I purchased and read it on my kindle, which is great for me since I travel a lot for work, and I can't usually take the pregnancy books with me. It's organized weekly, so I can check on it and decide whether I want to spend more time in that week or maybe just read through to the next one. I find that with two young children already, being pregnant with number three is an entirely different experience, one in which I haven't gotten to spend the "me time" that came with my first. Since I know all the technical stuff by now, this was perfect because it's more of a focus on nurturing your thoughts, feelings, ideas and body. It can be a little touchy feely (I know that's a matter of taste), but it's a yoga book, what do you expect? anyway I would recommend it especially for those in my position, who don't have a lot of time for daily prenatal yoga classes, or are otherwise busy and trying to find a way to connect with your baby and yourself during pregnancy.

Warning to anyone familiar with any Yoga: this is not an informative book.It is basically a glorified photo album.It suggests one posture per week.

That every man might hurt me.Abbie has a wonderful and fulfilling career and certainly doesn't need a man to complete her but Cameron is a born romantic and takes their relationship at Abbie's pace. He is funny, sexy, smart and completely charming. And treats her like gold.“Don’t be nervous,” he whispered. “You give me a new reason to want you every single day.”I certainly wasn't expecting the bombshell that Ms. Stewart dropped in the middle of this book!! It made me re-think every thing I had just read. The love and chemistry between Abbie and Cameron was simply undeniable and they both were good people who deserved a chance at love and happiness."All I did was fight for the happiness I wanted to deserve. When . . . was it going to be my time? And hadn’t I given enough flesh?"I loved this book and I absolutely adored how quirky Abbie was. Abbie the witchy woman and Cameron the king of woo. These two had me spellbound immediately after reading the first chapter. I was intrigued as they were when they caught each other’s gaze in that Sunny Side Cafe drinking coffee. Their looks said it all as did their hilarious coffee mugs but it was Abbie’s quirky, cautious and sarcastic personality that screwed it all up. Luckily fate strikes again and that second interaction in The Violet Hour is filled with chemistry and of course Abbie’s BFF , the hilarious and fabulous Bree who makes sure that Abbie has a second chance with Cameron at the Sunny Side Cafe.From that moment on Abbie and Cameron story is a delicious slow burn to get to know one another through words. Yes, they communicate through Airdrop while they sit in the cafe. It’s different and gives their interaction and relationship a more intimate feel. There’s a reason why they choose this way of getting to know one another and I won’t spoil it here. I enjoyed every aspect of this story and when they took it one step forward to actually dating and being intimate I was already head over heels in love with both Cameron and Abbie. He wooed me and Abbie made me laugh. Their chemistry was undeniable and sizzling hot. This was romance and I devoured it.Then the other shoe dropped. Yup, I didn’t see that coming and believe me I was thinking about some sort of twist or conflict along their blossoming romance but Kate Stewart had me totally mesmerized by her words that it hit me when I least expected it. My heart was shattered but Kate Stewart puts it back together effortlessly and with so much love and attention to her characters and their story. The topics are serious, taboo and very important. Kate Stewart puts her touch on the story, on a topic that needs more awareness and discussion. The reader becomes emotionally invested in Abbie and Cameron. The pace is spot on from the beginning and kept me glued to the pages. The epilogue left me on a high and with a smirk on my face. The title says it all. It pains me to leave a 3 star review, because I love this author and Drive was book of 2017 for me, but this one didn’t work for me. It wasn’t as tight or as polished as Drive and at times felt manic.I found the pacing quite slow in the beginning, whilst overall it was wordy or over written with information and conversations that had no bearing on the story.The premise of Cameron and Abbie communicating via messages on their Mac was a brilliant idea but it was overdone and went on for far too long. So much so that it didn’t feel realistic to me and I didn’t buy it.I love a strong heroine and not one that is bitter or plays the victim card and sadly that’s how Abbie came across to me right from the beginning and I lost interest.Cameron was a great character and I thought his secret was what saved the story.......This book has a very interesting premise and a great hero with a very unusual secret that is well worth reading. I love Kate Stewart and the idea of this book. It’s the execution and delivery that let me down. I’m in the minority with my opinion because there is a lot love and 5 star reviews for this book.
